Design the house by drawing a roof, chimney and 4 walls in any design you like and make paper stencils.
Bring butter to room temperature and soften. When it has softened, mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
Add sifted flour and mix together. When it has come together as a dough, divide into separate parts and colour with the food colouring and cocoa. Wrap and let sit in the fridge.
After letting it rest for 30 minutes, roll out to 0.5 mm, and then cut the parts out around paper stencils with a knife.
Line the parts up on a baking tray and bake at 190℃ for 20 minutes. When baked, put the parts on a rack and let cool.
When cooled, secure the parts with icing and it's done. Do this carefully one part at a time, making sure each part is hard and secured before moving on to the next.
Decorate the outside of the house as you like.
This the house from the right.
And from the back.

My kids were delighted with it!! They said "We want to eat it whole !"
Story Behind this Recipe
I wanted to make my children smile.
Use bright food coloring and enjoy constructing the house. It's nice if you sprinkle powdered sugar all over to look like snow. Give the icing, which you will use to secure the parts, a firm finish by adding the egg white a bit at a time. If it's too soft, the parts will slide off.
