Simple Apple Jam

Simple Apple Jam

This is a simple recipe for some jam I made with apples I bought on sale. It takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes (15 minutes of actual work) and is about 400 calories.

Ingredients: one 290 ml jar

1 (about 235 g without skin and core)
Lemon juice
1 tablespoon
70 g

1. Chop the apple into 8 pieces, then slice them thinly and soak them in salt water to prevent the color from changing.
2. Put the apple and sugar into a thick frying pan or pot, then mix thoroughly and let sit for about an hour.
3. When syrup start to form as shown in the picture, turn on the heat. Mix and mash the apple as you cook.
4. When the apple begins to turn translucent, add the lemon juice, and when the liquid is reduced by about half, turn off the heat. Store in a sterilized jar.

Story Behind this Recipe

I bought some Starking apples, but they didn't go over well with my family, so tried making some jam. I think they're delicious either way.
