Turnip Greens for Fridge Stocking

Turnip Greens for Fridge Stocking

I bought turnips that came with their tops. It's a shame to waste them, so I made this versatile fridge stocking item.

Use it as onigiri filling, in your pasta, or as a condiment.

It's convenient.

Turnip greens and stalk
5 turnips' worth
Sesame seeds
to taste
Bonito flakes
about 2 pinches
Soy sauce
2 teaspoons
2 teaspoons
1 teaspoon
Dashi soup stock granules
1 teaspoon

1. Thoroughly rinse the turnip greens, then finely chop.
2. Heat sesame oil in a frying pan, and sauté the greens from Step 1 with sesame seeds.
3. Add soy sauce, sugar, sake, and dashi soup stock granules, when it comes to a boil add the bonito flakes. It's ready to serve when the liquid boils out completely.

Story Behind this Recipe

I've been making this dish for ages.
You can also use daikon leaves instead of the turnip greens.
