Delightful Chikuwa Fishcake Sticks and Garlic Shoots Sautéed in Butter

I love the flavor and texture of garlic shoots. I transformed cheap garlic shoots into a delightful dish. This is a handy recipe right before pay day when money is tight. It's super delicious.

Ingredients

Chikuwa (or hanpen)

Garlic shoots
1 package (12 stems)
Butter
5 g
* Mirin
2 tablespoons
* Miso
1 tablespoon
Shichimi spice
to taste

Steps

1. Combine the mirin and miso.
2. Cut the chikuwa and garlic shoots into bite sizes.
3. After sautéing the garlic shoots in a bit of vegetable oil, add butter and sauté the chikuwa.
4. Add the mirin and miso mixture toss the ingredients together, then serve.

Story Behind this Recipe

At first, I created this recipe using only chikuwa, but I added garlic shoots to add more volume. The garlic shoots go nicely with the buttery aroma and make this a tasty dish.
