Grilled onigiri, with miso or soy sauce

Grilled onigiri, with miso or soy sauce

Everybody loves grilled onigiri! Here's an easy way of preparing them with a frying pan. The sauce is just the right balance of sweet and salty.

Ingredients: 6 servings

Cooked rice
4 bowls
1.5 tablespoon
a. Mirin
1 tablespoon
a. Sugar
1 tablespoon
B. Soy sauce
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon
B. Sugar
1/2 tablespoon

1. Form the rice into the shape of an onigiri. This time, we'll be using 2 rice bowls' worth of rice to make three small ones.
2. Mix the ingredients labeled a. for the miso sauce, and combine the ingredients marked B. for the soy sauce flavored one.
3. Start grilling the onigiri in frying pan heated to medium. Pour the sauce into the pan, by drizzling it again the side of the pan. (Don't pour it on the rice directly.)
4. Once the onigiri have grilled to a nice golden-brown, flip them around and grill the other sides as well.
