Caramel Sauce Easily Made in the Microwave

Caramel Sauce Easily Made in the Microwave

You can easily make a small amount of caramel sauce in the microwave.

Ingredients: 2 pudding cups' worth

2 tablespoons
1 tablespoon + 2 teaspoons

1. Add 2 teaspoons to the sugar (don't mix).
2. Microwave uncovered at 600 W for 2 minutes. (If the color is too light, continue microwaving in 10 second increments.)
3. Once it has turned brown, remove from the microwave using a pot holder, and shake.
4. Add 1 tablespoon of water into the bowl and let it cool. (At this time, it will likely spatter, so be careful.) Mix with a spoon until evenly combined.
5. Once cooled, it's done.

Story Behind this Recipe

I wanted to make just a little bit of caramel sauce so I consulted a book my kids borrowed from the library, "Microwave Snack Magic," and came up with this variation.
