Light and Fluffy Cheese-Fried Tonguefish

This is a delicious way to have tonguefish.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Tonguefish (boned)
Flour (cake flour)
as needed
Salt and pepper
a small amount
☆Grated cheese
1 tablespoon
Olive oil (or vegetable oil)
1 tablespoon
For the mayonnaise sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons
◎Grainy mustard (may be omitted)
1 teaspoon


1. Season both sides of the tonguefish with salt and pepper, then coat in flour.
2. Mix together the ☆ ingredients in a bowl with a whisk.
3. Heat the oil in a frying pan.
4. Coat the tonguefish in the egg wash from Step 2 and fry in the pan.
5. Once both sides are lightly browned, it's done.
6. Mix together the ◎ ingredients to make the delicious mustard-mayonnaise sauce! (You can also simply use mayonnaise.)
7. My recommended sauces: Mayonnaise and onion, Mayonnaise and chopped pickles, Mayonnaise and black pepper.
