3
Garlic (finely chopped)

Steps

1. Briefly boil your diced potatoes, and skim off any scum that rises to the top. Adjust the amount of water so that it's level with the potatoes. Add the cube of soup stock and the chopped garlic. Simmer until just about 1 cm of water is level in your pot.
2. Take your pot off the stove, and add in butter. Mash up the potatoes with the a hand-mixer until smooth.
3. Mix in your preferred amount of wasabi into the milk. Add this to the mashed potatoes from Step 2.
4. Return the pot of mashed potatoes to the stovetop, and stir over low heat until it becomes your desired consistency.

Story Behind this Recipe

I had some wasabi flavored mashed potatoes in Minneapolis that were delicious, so I wanted to try making my own at home. I think the restaurant used powdered wasabi, but I just used the regular tubed type that I had around at the time.
