Matcha & Green Tea Double Tea Rice

Just cook in your rice cooker! The double punch of matcha and green tea gives this tea rice a great aroma and light taste! Eat as-is, add salted kombu, or make onigiri.

Ingredients: 2-4 servings

White rice
2 rice cooker cups worth (360ml)
Green tea leaves
1 tablespoon
Hot water
200-300 ml
Matcha
1 teaspoon
Sake
2 tablespoons
Salt
a pinch

Steps

1. Wash the rice. Place the green tea in 200-300 ml of hot water and allow to cool. Then add the matcha and dissolve.
2. Add Step 1 together with the sake and salt to the rice cooker. Add enough water to come up to the 2 rice cup line of the rice cooker. Turn it on and cook the rice. While cooking, you'll smell the aromatic tea fragrance.
3. Once the rice cooker has finished, it's complete!
4. Make into an onigiri to add a bit of color to a bento lunch box.

Matcha bread and desserts are delicious and I'm a big fan of them. So then I thought for tea rice, instead of just green tea, how about adding matcha as well?!
