Italian Chicken Meatballs

Italian Chicken Meatballs

I just changed the sauce for the Japanese chicken meatballs that I serve regularly to make an Italian version!

Ingredients: 4 servings

Ground chicken thigh and/or breast
net 500 g
Lotus root
100 g
Green onions or scallions
to taste
★Soy sauce
2 teaspoons
1 teaspoon
★Grated ginger
2 teaspoons
For the sauce
*Minced onion
4 tablespoons
* Pesto genovese (or fresh basil)
2 teaspoons
Tabasco (optional)
as needed

1. Mince the lotus root (but not too finely). Chop up the green onions into small pieces. Finely mince the onion for the sauce and soak in water.
2. Put the ground chicken, lotus root, green onions, and seasonings in a bowl and mix well.
3. Make bite-sized balls, heat some oil (not listed) in a frying pan, and fry the meat balls.
4. While frying, pat dry the soaked onions with a paper towel. Mix with the ingredients to make the sauce.
5. Sauce If you don't have pesto, finely chop up some fresh basil or use store-bought basil pesto.
6. Or add minced garlic for fragrance. Add Tabasco to taste! It's great for adults who want that extra punch!
