Umeboshi-Flavored Okra with Tuna Mayonnaise Dressing

Umeboshi-Flavored Okra with Tuna Mayonnaise Dressing

I gave the richness of the tuna mayonnaise a refreshing touch by adding umeboshi.

1 pack (roughly 10)
Roughly 1 tablespoon
Canned tuna
1 small can
1 tablespoon
Umeboshi paste
1/2 teaspoon
Soy sauce
3 drops
Sesame seeds
1 tablespoon

1. Rub the okra with salt to remove the bristles on the surface. Trim off the stem and boil the okra in water for about 1 minute. Cool in cold water.
2. Drain the okra and cut diagonally into roughly 3 parts.
3. Drain the oil from the tuna. Mix the tuna together with the mayonnaise, umeboshi paste, soy sauce and sesame seeds.
4. Add the okra to the mixture from Step 3 and it's ready.

Story Behind this Recipe

My friend was eating okra dipped in mayonnaise so I tried making a more refined version.
