Avocado and Shrimp California Roll

I tried recreating a sushi that I had at a sushi place in Boston!

Ingredients: 2 servings

About 10
Soy sauce
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon
a small amount
Seaweed for wrapping sushi
3 sheets
Sushi rice
1 rice cup


1. Chop the avocado and shrimp into large pieces, dip in soy sauce, then mix with the mayonnaise and lemon juice.
2. Layer the sushi rice on top of the seaweed sheets. Top with the avocado and shrimp.
3. Roll them up as tightly as you can.

Story Behind this Recipe

Originally, California rolls have the rice on the outside, but this is a version with the rice on the inside of the seaweed. Apparently, the reason is that Americans aren't as familiar with seaweed.
