Energizing Pork Slices with a Whole Apple

This delicious dish is nutritious, filling, and will help you recover from fatigue.
For people who are not worried about a little extra fat, pork belly and loin will be great in this dish as well.

Ingredients: 2-3 servings

Thinly sliced pork (top round)
200 g
Thinly sliced onion
Bean sprouts
1/2 bag
○Grated apple
1 apple's worth
○Grated garlic
1 tablespoon
○Grated ginger
1 tablespoon
○Cooking sake
1 tablespoon
○Honey (or sugar)
1 tablespoon
○Soy sauce
2-3 tablespoons
※Sesame seeds (ground)
as needed
※Shiso leaves (julienned)
as needed


1. Add the ○ ingredients into a bowl, and mix to make the marinade. Add the thinly sliced pork top round to marinate.
2. Sauté the onion in a frying pan until it becomes soft and wilted. Add the bean sprouts and the meat from Step 1 including the sauce. When everything is cooked through, it's done.
3. Top with the ※ sesame seeds and shredded shiso leaves.

Story Behind this Recipe

Pork meat is known to be relatively low in fat content, and it's often the preferred meat for athletes. I made this recipe for sport athletes so they can recover from fatigue with this delicious dish using low-fat thinly sliced top round pork.
