Shiokara Fermented Squid Ochazuke

This is a super easy recipe that simply involves pouring bonito and kombu dashi over shio kara. If you use homemade shio kara, its umami will increase!

Ingredients: 1 serving

Plain cooked rice
1 rice bowl's worth
Squid shio kara (Recipe ID: 858356)
20 g
Bonito flakes & kombu based dashi stock
80 ml
Green onions or scallions
a small amount
White sesame seeds
to taste
Shredded nori seaweed
to taste


1. Sprinkle white sesame seeds on top of hot rice, then top with the squid shio kara.
2. Pour the bonito kombu dashi on top of the shio kara. You can also use dashi stock.
3. Garnish with chopped green onions and shredded nori and enjoy.
