Sweet Tamagoyaki

This is a remake of my mother's tamagoyaki recipe.
Adding salt really brings out the sweetness.
Pack in your bento lunchbox or serve for breakfast.

Ingredients: 2 servings

3 teaspoons
a small amount
Vegetable oil
1 teaspoon


1. Break the eggs into a bowl. Add the sugar and salt and beat together, making sure to break the egg whites.
2. It should look like this after whisking.
3. Coat vegetable oil in a rectangular frying pan and cook on low. Pour in the egg mixture in two batches and cook.
4. After it's cooked, it's done.

Story Behind this Recipe

When I was younger, I felt that my mother's tamagoyaki was pretty sweet. But now I realize that that's what makes a delicious bento lunchbox...
I wanted to recreate that taste while at the same time keeping it healthy.
