Strawberry and Custard Parfait

This is a mini strawberry parfait full of seasonal strawberries. The strawberry sauce and custard cream is made in the microwave, making this incredibly easy to make.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Strawberry sauce
4 tablespoons
Custard cream
6 tablespoons
Sponge cake or castella
as needed
Whipped cream
as you like
as needed


1. Make the custard cream. Refer to Recipe ID: 630101.
2. Lightly wash the strawberries and pat dry. Remove the stems and cut in half. Cut the sponge cake into bite-sized pieces.
3. Put the granola in the dishes, add the custard cream and use a spoon to smooth the surface. Add the whipped cream and top with sponge cake. Add the cream.
4. Garnish with strawberries and top with the strawberry sauce. You can also garnish with mint leaves and dust with powdered sugar.

6. Use 1/2 of a recipe worth of the custard cream. Adjust to taste.
7. Please refer to Recipe ID: 1712435 for the sponge cake. You can store leftover sponge cake in the freezer.
8. You can use store-bought whipped cream as well. If possible, use heavy cream with 35% milk fat.
9. If you use store-bought jam instead of strawberry sauce, add a bit of water to loosen it before using.

This is a dessert that I have made since my children were little and it's always a big hit. It's also delicious with bananas. Use strawberry sauce to taste. You can use any toppings you like.
