Rich & Full of Umami! Soboro Made with Frozen Tofu

The umami flavor is increased by adding onions! The slight hint of mayo and oyster sauce brings out the richness. ♪


Defrosted frozen firm tofu
1 block
Onion (finely chopped)
☆ Soy sauce, mirin, sugar, mayonnaise
1 tablespoon
☆ Miso, oyster sauce, powdered chicken soup stock
1 teaspoon
Grated ginger (or tubed ginger)
2~3 cm
Sesame oil
to taste


1. Drain the tofu and then mash it by hand until it's crumbly.
2. Heat up the sesame oil in a frying pan and stir fry the onion. Add in the tofu next and stir fry it as well.
3. Once everything is coated in oil, season with the ☆ ingredients. Then finally season with salt, and it's done! ♪ Adjust the seasonings to your tastes.
4. I like eating soboro on piping hot rice, topped with mayonnaise (which raises the calorie count) and nori seaweed! ♡
