Delicious Nikudofu (Simmered Meat and Tofu)

It's gently sweet and salty taste is comforting. You can make it in no time as long as you make the dashi ahead of time.

Ingredients: 3 servings

Thinly sliced beef (for sukiyaki)
200 g
Grilled tofu
1 block
Green onion or scallion
Enoki mushrooms
1 small bag
Japanese dashi stock
1 cup (200 ml)
2 tablespoons
3 tablespoons
Soy sauce
3 tablespoons

1. Cut the beef and tofu into bite-sized pieces, and cut the green onion diagonally into slices. Cut the roots off the enoki mushrooms, and separate them into pieces.
2. Add the dashi stock, sugar, sake, and soy sauce into a shallow pot such as frying pan, then bring to a boil. Spread out the beef in the pan and simmer. Place the tofu at the bottom of the pan, and put the beef on top. Cover with a lid, and simmer for 8 minutes.

Story Behind this Recipe

I usually cook by eyeballing instead of measuring, but I wanted to be confident with this recipe, so I measured the ingredients this time.
