Easy Italian Meatballs

For this year's Valentine's Day, I made meatballs filled of cheese and served with tomato sauce!

Ingredients: 3-4 servings

Ground pork (or beef)
300 - 400 g
Onion (grated)
1/3
Garlic (finely chopped)
1 clove
Grated cheese
About 20 g
Egg
1
Panko
About 10 g
Salt and pepper
to taste
Thyme (if you have some)
as needed
Oregano (if you have some)
as needed
Nutmeg (optional, if you have it)
as needed
Tomato Sauce

Or use your homemade or store-bought sauce

Steps

1. In a bowl, mix together all of the ingredients except for the tomato sauce.
2. Roll into bite-sized balls and arrange on a heat-proof tray.
3. Bake in an oven preheated to 190℃ for 15 minutes. (You can also fry them). Some juice may seep out from the meatballs, but you can mix it back into the tomato sauce if you like!
4. Once they are baked, mix the meatballs and the juices from them together with the sauce to finish!

Story Behind this Recipe

This meatball recipe is dedicated to those who love cheese!
I used Parmesiano Reggiano instead of regular old parmesan (since my husband likes it better), but any cheese would work.
