Jack Cookies for Halloween

It's almost Halloween. How about giving your friends these Jack cookies as a Halloween present?

Ingredients: As many as you like. The cookies in the photo are 8 cm.

Cake flour
300 g
200 g
100 g
Vanilla extract
3 drops
Later additions:
Cocoa powder
10 g
Cake flour
20 g


1. Preparation: Sift the cake flour. Bring the butter to room temperature. Preheat the oven to 160℃.
2. Knead the room temperature butter with a wooden spatula until soft.
3. Add the sugar and knead until it has a fluffy, cream-like consistency.
4. Add the beaten egg and vanilla extract and mix well.
5. It will separate at first, but if you knead it well, it will look like this!! Knead it to this consistency.
6. Add the sifted flour and mix in a cutting motion, without kneading.
7. Divide the dough 1:3. and mix cocoa powder into the 1 portion.
8. Add the flour listed under later additions to the rest of the dough, and mix.
9. Dust the sheet and rolling pin with flour so the dough won't stick to it.
10. Stretch out the plain dough as much as you can by hand.
11. Use a rolling pin to stretch it to a 5 mm thickness.
12. Cut out round shapes.
13. Cut some of the cocoa dough into ovals and stick them to the plain dough.
14. Stick two sesame seed size pieces of cocoa dough on for the nose.
15. Add the mouth, shaped as you like.
16. Add Jack's characteristic stitches.
17. Bake for 15-20 minutes at 160℃, and they're done.
