Easy Soy Sauce Flavored Flounder in a Frying Pan

Easy Soy Sauce Flavored Flounder in a Frying Pan

This doesn't need to be made just with flounder, since this recipe will make any white fish taste delicious.

Ingredients: 4 servings

4 filets
to taste
Soy sauce
50 ml
120 ml
150 ml
*Soft brown sugar
1 tablespoon

1. I used righteye flounder this time but you can also use halibut, sea bream, or lefteye flounder. With this ratio of ingredients, any of these fish will taste wonderful.
2. Put the soy sauce, sake, mirin, and if you like a sweeter flavor, add the brown sugar into the frying pan.
3. When it begins to boil, place the fish and ginger in the pan and let it simmer over medium heat.
4. Place a sheet of parchment paper or aluminum foil on top as a lid and leave covered for 10-15 minutes as it simmers.
5. When some of the liquid has evaporated off, thickening the simmering sauce into a syrup-like consistency, coat it over the fish and you're done.

Story Behind this Recipe

I wanted to make something with just a small amount of simmering sauce. When I tried simmering the fish in a frying pan, it came out delicious.
