Bibimbap Meat Soboro with Secret Sauce

Bibimbap Meat Soboro with Secret Sauce

You'll definitely want to use this in your bibimbap! It's also delicious on top of rice.

Ingredients: 2-3 servings

Ground meat (beef or pork)
150 g
Secret sauce Recipe ID: 2327883
4 tablespoons
Garlic (grated) Recipe ID: 2322784
1 clove
a small amount
2 tablespoons
Sesame oil (for finishing)
1 teaspoon

1. Combine the meat, secret sauce (Recipe ID: 2327883), garlic, water, and pepper in a frying pan or pot and mix well.
2. Turn on the heat and cook while mixing until it becomes crumbly. Once the liquid simmers off and the meat is coated, turn off the heat and add the sesame oil.
3. Depending on your meat, there may be a lot of fat. In this case, use a paper towel to sop it up, then add the sesame oil. It'll taste lighter this way.
4. Prepare it so that a little of the liquid remains. You've made fluffy meat soboro. If you have over-simmered it, add some sake or water.
5. [Note] If you don't have sauce, prepare it as follows: 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of sake, 1 tablespoon of mirin, 1-2 teaspoons of sugar, and a pinch of umami seasoning.

Story Behind this Recipe

I love eating this with rice wrapped up in lettuce or steamed cabbage. It's got such a strong taste that it's delicious when cold and great for a bento.
