From Canada: Maple Salmon Bake for Bento

From Canada: Maple Salmon Bake for Bento

The first ingredients that spring to mind when you think of Canada are salmon and maple syrup. I used both to make this easy and delicious main dish for bento.

Ingredients: 1 serving

Salmon filets
1 (Approx. 100 g)
☆Maple syrup
2 teaspoons
1 teaspoon
☆Soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon

1. Preheat the oven to 390°F/200°C. Mix the ingredients marked with ☆ while it's heating.
2. Put the fish in a ovenproof dish and cover with the ingredients marked with ☆. When the oven has heated, bake for 15 minutes.
3. I used Canadian beer instead of water for the tempura side dish, and included matcha salt in this Japanese/Canadian combo bento.

Story Behind this Recipe

I made a bento with regional ingredients and seasonings. Salmon and maple syrup are food specialties of Canada and I wanted to use them in a Japanese/Canadian themed bento.
