Mushroom Cream Sauce Gnocchi

Mushroom Cream Sauce Gnocchi

I bought some gnocchi and served with a mushroom cream sauce.

Ingredients: 4 servings

Gnocchi (store-bought)
350 g
Onion (roughly minced)
Garlic (minced)
1 clove
2 slices
Shimeji mushrooms
1 pack (100 g)
Plain flour
2 tablespoons (20 g)
Heavy cream and water
100 ml + 200 ml
Or milk
300 ml
a pinch

1. Mince the onion and the garlic. Cut the bacon into 1 cm pieces. Heat butter in a frying pan and sauté the garlic and onion.
2. Once tender, add the bacon. The bacon will render a lot of oil.
3. Add the shimeji mushrooms. Once softened, add the flour and continue cooking until there are no flour streaks.
4. Pour in the heavy cream and milk in 3 portions. Adjust the flavor with salt and then turn off the heat. Cover with a lid and let it sit.
5. Boil the gnocchi according to the packaging, drain, and coat with the sauce from Step 4.
6. While simmering over low heat, give it one more stir to finish.

Story Behind this Recipe

I managed to get some cheap heavy cream, so I made a cream sauce.
