Simple Side Dish: Sweet Potato Sautéed with Lemon Butter

Simple Side Dish: Sweet Potato Sautéed with Lemon Butter

The balance of sweetness of the sweet potato with the saltiness of soy sauce and butter accented with a touch of lemon make this irresistible.

Ingredients

Sweet potato
1 (150 g)
Butter
1 tablespoon
Lemon juice (Pokka Lemon)
1 to 2 teaspoons
Soy sauce
2 teaspoons
Salt
to taste

Steps

1. Slice the sweet potato into thin, snackable sticks, soak in water, then thoroughly drain the excess water.
2. Melt butter in a heated frying pan, add the sweet potato sticks, coat in butter, sprinkle lemon juice, and cover with a lid.
3. Steam for 3 to 5 minutes on low heat until tender. Keep your eye on the pan and stir from time to time since they tend to burn easily.
4. Remove the lid, add soy sauce and salt, and heat over high to cook out the liquid. Enjoy!
5. I left the peel on for these.

Story Behind this Recipe

Since sweet potatoes were on sale, I came up with this easy-prep sautéed side dish.
