Chinese-style Cucumber and Imitation Crab in Vinegar Sauce

Light and refreshing It's sweet, sour, and delicious. Please try it chilled.

Ingredients: 3-4 people

40-50 g
1/4 teaspoon
★ Umami seasoning
a small amount
2 tablespoons
1 tablespoon
★Sesame oil
1 tablespoon
★Roasted sesame seeds
2 teaspoons
Japanese mustard (in a tube) optional
a little


1. Thinly slice the cucumber, rub with a little salt, and let rest. After they have shriveled a bit, thoroughly rinse in water, and drain thoroughly.
2. If the crab sticks are long, cut in half and shred them up.
3. Mix the ingredients marked with ★ in a bowl, and add the cucumber and imitation crab. Chill in the fridge.
4. Once the flavor has seeped in, mix from the bottom to the top, check to taste, and serve on plates.

Story Behind this Recipe

I think that vinegar dishes taste great in the summer. I substituted the sesame oil from the cucumber vinegar dish that I normally make with mustard, and made a Chinese-style version.
