Canned Boiled Mackerel & Sweet Onion Salad

This recipe uses canned mackerel that's served on a bed of sweet onions and seasoned with herbed salt.

Ingredients: 2 servings

Canned boiled mackerel
1 can
Sweet onion or regular onion
a small amount
Herbed salt
to taste
a small amount
Canned mackerel oil
a small amount


1. Thinly slice the onion and soak in water. Thoroughly wring out the excess moisture and set aside. Open the canned mackerel.
2. Arrange the onion on a dish and top with the mackerel. Pour on a little bit of the mackerel oil from the can and season with herbed salt.
3. Squirt with some mayonnaise as well.
