Put the dry ingredients and butter in a bread machine. Put the ☆ ingredients in a measuring cup and mix well. Add to the bread machine and start the "dough-only" setting.
When the dough is done, divide into 8 portions, deflate and roll into balls. Cover with a tightly wrung out moistened kitchen towel and rest for 15 minutes.
Roll the dough out to about 1cm thickness. Stretch one end to form the dough into a foot.
Put a generous amount of olive oil in a frying pan, and cook over medium heat.
After cooking one side for about 5 minutes, flip over and cook the other side for about 5 minutes. (If it's golden brown like this, it's good.)
When the bread is cooked, brush the surfaces with olive oil and they're done.
Story Behind this Recipe
Naan made only with bread flour tends to be tough, and only with cake flour only is not chewy enough, so I wanted to make a personalized version. This is the absolutely best naan I've ever made! Eat with keema curry.
If the dough sticks to your hands, dust with a little bread flour when forming the dough. When putting the dough in the frying pan, roll it out a bit while cooking. If you use a generous amount of olive oil, the naan will stay tender and delicious even after time!
