Add the ingredients marked ○ and mix well, making sure the sugar dissolves completely.
Heat a frying pan. When heated, coat with vegetable oil. *Make sure you heat the frying pan before adding oil.
Pour the mixture into the pan and scramble the hardened egg from the edges in a wide circular motion while cooking.
Turn the heat to low and wait for the egg to harden.
Roll the egg.
On low heat, flip it over while cooking so the middle cooks thorough, and it's done.
Slice it into any size you like and stuff it in your bento!
Story Behind this Recipe
This is my usual bento omelette. I always just estimate the ingredient amounts, but this time I measured them. This makes it easier to teach the recipe to family members.
It contains sugar so it will burn if you turn the heat too high. Start on medium heat, warm the frying pan, coat with oil and warm, then pour in the mixture. Cook over fairly low to low heat. Finally, turn the heat up to medium to cook through.
