Ginger and Shio-Koji Sugar Toast

Once in a while, why don't you try a sugared toast with a kick of ginger?

Ingredients: 1 slice of regular bread

Bread of your choice
If regular bread, 1 slice
Ginger butter
☆Butter or margarine
1 teaspoon
☆Ginger (grated)
1/2 teaspoon
☆Shio-koji (salt fermented rice malt)
1/3 teaspoon
1 tablespoon


1. Thoroughly combine the ☆ ingredients to make the ginger butter.
2. Spread the ginger butter on the bread.
3. Toast in an oven until crispy and enjoy. Eat with your favorite fruits.

Story Behind this Recipe

While making dinner, I was grating the ginger and thought, "wouldn't this taste good on toast with sugar?" So I gave it a try.

The next day, I made it for my mother-in-law's breakfast~
