Easy Mexican Seven Layer Dip

Just prepare it and bake in the oven. Great for parties served with tortilla chips or for dinner.

Ingredients: About 3 to 4 servings (enough for a 21 x 21 x 5 cm rectangular casserole dish)

Steps

1. Sauté the ground meat. You can add chopped onions if you like!
2. Add the taco seasoning after the meat has cooked through.
3. Sauté the refried beans a little until smooth. Add a little water.
4. I used these canned refried beans this time.
5. Mash the avocados with a fork. Add the lemon juice, salt and pepper and mix.
6. Add the sour cream and cream cheese, and mix until smooth. If you take it out of the refrigerator a little before you mix it, it will be easier.
7. Optionally chop up the tomato, bell pepper and onion for the salsa.
8. I used this jar of salsa this time. Add the chopped up vegetables to the jar of salsa. This improves the texture. The vegetables are optional!
9. The first layer is sour cream and cream cheese mixed together Make it smooth and level the surface.
10. The second layer is the ground meat.
11. 3rd layer: Refried beans.
12. 4th layer: Avocado.
13. 5th layer: Salsa.

15. 6th layer: Shredded lettuce.
16. 7th layer: Cheese! Add as much as you like.
17. And put into the oven Bake for about 20 minutes at 180°C. Everything is already cooked, so when the cheese melts it's done!
18. Serve with tortilla chips.

Story Behind this Recipe

I make this to eat with my Canadian husband, who grew up in a family that loved Mexican food.
I wanted to make something that we could eat slowly while watching a movie or having drinks.
