Fried Crispy Mashed Potatoes with Onion

Quick snack that goes well with alcohol! Or kid's snack! You can't stop eating! Potatoes and onion are great combination.

Ingredients: 4 servings

Potatoes (large)
3
Onions (finely chopped)
1/2
Soup stock granules
5 g
Salt and pepper
to taste
Katakuriko
about 3 tablespoons
Frying oil
as needed

Steps

1. Peel the potato skin and microwave to soften.
2. To shape well, adjust the amount of katakuriko depending on the size of the potatoes.
3. Transfer this on a plastic wrap and cut into desired sizes. Pour the oil about 3cm deep in the frying pan and heat to 180°C.
4. Deep fry carefully. It's easier to flip them if you use a spatula. This picture is square version.
5. This is stick version.
6. One Cookpad user made this with mentaiko (spicy cod roe) and cheese! It looks so delicious.
7. Another added corn to this! It looks delicious too.
8. To shape well, please adjust the amount of katakuriko depending on the potato sizes.
