Mix the ingredients with a spatula. When the mixture is crumbly, knead with your hands.
When the dough stops sticking to your hands, stretch it out.
Fold the dough and push it down, kneading until the surface is soft and elastic, about 2-3 minutes.
Divide the dough into 2 and wrap in plastic wrap. Prepare fillings.
Dust a surface with flour and use a rolling pin to roll the tortillas very thin. Cook in a frying pan until the surface is lightly browned. Wrap in fillings and enjoy.
(Melted cheese version) After lightly browning each side of the tortilla, top with cheese and cover the pan with a lid. When the cheese melts, it's done.
Now add fillings like meat, leafy greens, sliced avocado, minced garlic, ketchup, or mayonnaise, wrap up and enjoy.
I also recommend filling with Seasoned Chicken, Recipe ID: 2149247 and Instant Tomato Sauce, Recipe ID: 2177651.
You can make these for a tortilla party.
Story Behind this Recipe
My recipes for "Naan Made With Just Cake Flour" (Recipe ID: 2213834) and "Pizza"(Recipe ID: 2237103) were well received, so I made this recipe. These tortillas are more delicious than I thought they would be. If you make these, let me know how it goes.
The hot water and kneading make the dough soft. If you are making a lot, wrap leftover tortillas with a damp towel and wrap with plastic wrap to keep them from dying out. Overcooking will make the tortillas tough, so remove from the pan as soon as the cheese melts.
