French Toast

An easy way to transform leftover bread.

Ingredients: 2 servings

White bread (from an 8-slice loaf)
2 slices
Eggs
2
Milk
100ml
Sugar
a little less than 2 tablespoons
Butter
1 tablespoon
Vanilla extract
as needed
Powdered sugar (optional)
to taste

Steps

1. Mix the egg, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract together in a bowl with a whisk.
2. Cut the bread slices into 4 pieces and soak in the egg mixture for about 5 minutes.
3. Melt the butter in a heated frying pan. Place the bread in the pan, cover with a lid, and cook on low heat for about 2 minutes.
4. When the bottoms have browned like in the picture, flip them and continue to cook uncovered.
5. Enjoy. Sprinkle on some powdered sugar to taste.
