Squeeze out the lemon juice, add the honey, and mix well to dissolve.
Add plenty of ice to a glass. Add the whiskey and the honey lemon from Step 1, and a small amount of water. Quickly mix, and garnish with mint and lemon and it's complete.
Story Behind this Recipe
This comes from my favorite bar that I went to as a student called Maimai Tsuburo. It's since closed down, so the only things left are my memories of it and the flavor of this whiskey sour that I watched the bartender make. It's very easy to make. However, the bartender didn't use mint as a garnish.
I often watched the bartender make this, so the taste should basically be the same. The bartender used Torys whiskey, so if at all possible I recommend using it. I can't get a hold of any, so if you can I'm extremely jealous.
