Macrobiotic Maple & Nut Scones

These scones have a healing sweetness via the maple syrup. You can let your children eat this because there are no eggs and it's non-dairy!

Ingredients: Makes 8, 5 cm scones

Cake flour
200 g
Bread flour
50 g
Baking powder
5 g
Salt
3 g
Maple syrup
30~40 g
Canola oil
30 g
Soy milk
90 g
Walnuts
30 g

Steps

1. Sift all of the dry ingredients together. Next, mix in the chopped walnuts.
2. Mix together the canola oil, soy milk, and maple syrup. Mix it well till it emulsifies.
3. Combine Step 1 with Step 2. Next, with a rubber spatula, mix together well using gentle cutting motions.
4. Once it is no longer floury, gather the dough together. Roll the dough out to a 2 cm thickness with a rolling pin and cut the dough into whatever shapes you would like.
5. Arrange them on a baking tray and bake in an oven for 15 minutes at 220℃.

Story Behind this Recipe

I created a scone recipe that's macrobiotic! I made it into Mickey's face which my child loves. As for how I did it, the cutter is sold at the place where Mickey lives.
