Sweetly Steamed Cabbage and Aburaage with Basil

This dish doesn't use sugar but makes the most of the natural sweetness from the cabbage and the sweet juiciness of the aburaage.

Ingredients: 4 servings

1/4 head
4 pieces
Vegetable oil
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon
*Soy sauce
1 tablespoon
2 tablespoons
Dried basil
a lot


1. Boil the aburaage in water to remove the excess oil. Cut in half lengthwise and then into 5 mm strips crosswise.
2. Roughly chop the cabbage. Heat oil in a frying pan and cook the cabbage until their colors brightens.
3. Add the aburaage and all of the * ingredients and lightly cook while mixing everything together.
4. Sprinkle with lots of basil.
5. Cover with a lid and steam for 2 minutes on medium heat. When you open the lid, you will be enveloped by the lovely scent of the basil.
6. Serve on a dish and sprinkle lightly with basil.
