Kaonashi Bento: Spirited Away Movie Character

Kaonashi Bento: Spirited Away Movie Character

Simple but impressive. My two Junior high boys are quite delighted by this.

Ingredients: 1 serving

Nori seaweed
1 sheet
Sliced cheese
1 slice
Sliced ham
as needed

1. Cut the nori to a size that fits in your bento box.
2. Layer on an oval piece of cheese.
3. Cut the eyes and mouth. (If making two identical pieces, cut two sheets of nori at the same time.)
4. Cut through 2 slices of ham to make the rounded lines running down the length of the face.
5. Place the facial features on the cheese.
6. Once the rice has cooled completely, top with the face.
7. In the lower right corner of the picture, I used the leftover cheese and nori on a meatball to make Makkuro Kurosuke from My Neighbor Totoro.

Story Behind this Recipe

A substitute to my son's requests for an Evangelion bento.
