Thick Chewy Pancakes Made with Silken Tofu

Pancake mix, silken tofu, and eggs are combined to make these chewy and thick pancakes .


Pancake mix
200 g
Silken tofu
200 g


1. Mix the silken tofu with a whisk until it becomes a paste-like consistency.
2. Add the egg and mix very well.
3. Add the pancake mix and mix gently, just until it's incorporated.
4. Heat a frying pan and cook the pancakes over low heat. They burn easily, so keep the heat very low.
5. When the surface starts to look dry, flip the pancakes. They're very thick, so pierce with a skewer to check if the inside is cooked through.
6. When the skewer comes out clean, they're done.

Story Behind this Recipe

When I was thinking about making pancakes, I looked in the fridge and found tofu.
"If I added tofu to pancake mix, how would it taste??" I wondered. I tried it was more delicious than I thought.
Even when they're cool, these pancakes are chewy.
