Easy Pork-Wrapped Asparagus

Easy Pork-Wrapped Asparagus

The asparagus is precooked, so you don't need to worry about cooking them through in the pan. Try them as bento fillers.

2 sticks
Thinly sliced pork
3 slices
Salt and pepper
1/8 teaspoon
1/4 teaspoon
Kombu-based mentsuyu
1/2 teaspoon

1. Use a vegetable peeler to remove any tough outer fibers of the asparagus, then microwave in a silicon steamer for 1 minute.
2. Spread out the pork slices, and season the asparagus with salt and pepper. Roll the asparagus in the pork and dust with katakuriko.
3. Heat a non-stick pan and place the wraps inside, sealed edge facing down, and cook until browned on all sides. Drizzle the mentsuyu over the top and it's done.
4. Looks tasty, doesn't it?

Story Behind this Recipe

I made this after purchasing nice, thick asparagus.
I love the crunchy texture and aroma when biting into the thick sticks.
