Soft Sweet New Harvest Onion in 3 minutes

Soft Sweet New Harvest Onion in 3 minutes

Cooking sweet onions this way makes them soft and delicious, but it takes almost no time at all! This recipe comes directly from my grandmother, who lives on a farm. The onion becomes melt-in-your-mouth soft.

Ingredients: 1 onion's worth

Steps

1. Wash and peel a whole onion. Make a deep crisscross cut in the end opposite the root end of the onion! Don't cut deeply enough to go all the way through the onion.
2. Put the onion in a dish as deep as possible, and cover with plastic wrap. Microwave at 500 W for about 3 minutes.
3. Open the plastic wrap slightly to pour out the liquid that came out of the onion! Then, just eat the onion with ponzu sauce or your favorite seasoning to taste.

Story Behind this Recipe

This recipe was handed down to my mother from my grandmother, who is a farmer, and then it was passed on to me.
