Easy Microwave-Made Cucumber Pickles

Easy Microwave-Made Cucumber Pickles

Let's make some pickles for hamburgers with this simple, microwave recipe! You can gobble up this lightly seasoned cucumber in one sitting.

1 (100-120 g)
1/2 teaspoon
1 tablespoon
2 teaspoons
◎Bay leaf

1. Mix the ◎ brine ingredients together in a container that's deep enough to be heated in the microwave.
2. Wash the cucumber and it off, then slice into 2-3 ml thick pieces. Add it to the brine and mix well. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
3. Stir once and then cover tightly with plastic wrap. Heat in a 500 watt microwave for 1 minutes 30 seconds. Remove and stir again.
4. Cover tightly with wrap again and microwave again at 500 watts for about 1 minute. Remove and stir again and if the cucumber has all changed color, you're good!
5. Cover again tightly with the plastic wrap and let cool. Once it's cooled, store in the refrigerator and allow it to pickle for half a day to a day, then enjoy.
6. I used a bowl that I got at the Spring 2013 Yamazaki Bread Festival. It's 18 cm in diameter and 4.8 cm tall.
7. You can add them to hamburgers or sandwiches as an accent!
8. They're also delicious diced up in tartar sauce!
9. Also feel free to eat them as is, or as a palate-cleanser. They're good with curry, too!!
