Tsukune Pork Patties - Great for Bentos

Tsukune Pork Patties - Great for Bentos

These taste great even without eggs. All you do is mix and fry so it's easy. These also taste great cold, so I recommend them for bento lunches.

Ground pork
150 g
one small potato (50 g)
Japanese leek
★Ginger and garlic (from a tube)
1 cm each
1-2 pinches
★Sesame oil
1 teaspoon
※ Sake, sugar, soy sauce, mirin
1 teaspoon of each

1. Finely chop the Japanese leeks, and grate the potatoes.
2. Add the ground pork to the ingredients from step 1 along with the ingredients marked with ★, and mix together with a spatula.
3. Make the patties as big as you like and fry in a heated pan. Use a non-stick pan so you don't need oil.
4. Flip over once they've browned on one side, cover with a lid, and continue cooking (at low to medium heat).
5. Add the ingredients marked with ※, and you are done once the patties have become evenly coated.

Story Behind this Recipe

I really wanted to make a bento side dish.
I really didn't want to use eggs.
