soy sauce (or okonomiyaki sauce), mayonnaise, aonori dried seaweed, bonito flakes, red pickled ginger etc.
Add the ★ ingredients to a bowl and mix well. Cut the chikuwa into thin rings. Roughly chop the green onions into 1cm pieces. (See Hints.)
Add in the green onions along with the rest of the ingredients, and mix together.
Heat oil in a pan, pour in the mixture from Step 2, and cook well on both sides over medium heat . Make sure to press down on it with a spatula in the process to make it all stick together.
It's done . Try it with okonomiyaki sauce and other condiments . I drizzle it with soy sauce for a light flavor . It also tastes great without anything on it.
Story Behind this Recipe
I had some leftover onions... so I made something really simple.
When cutting the green onions... It is easier to spread out cooking paper and then cut since this will not get the cutting board dirty, and you can easily add the green onions into the bowl without them scattering all over . This tastes great with either green onions or scallions. There aren't many ingredients, so it might be difficult to flip over. Flipping it over all at once is a good idea.
