Silken Tofu with Ginger Ankake Sauce

This dish is mildly seasoned.
Use a spoon to eat the silken tofu with the ginger flavored ankake sauce.

Ingredients: 1 block of tofu

Silken tofu
1 block
Green onions (sliced)
to taste
Ginger Ankake Sauce:
Mentsuyu (3x concentrate)
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon
Dashi stock granules
1/2 teaspoon
Katakuriko slurry
as needed
Grated ginger
to taste


1. (Ginger Ankake Sauce) 1: Combine the water, mentsuyu, mirin, and dashi stock granules to a pot and bring to a boil.
2. 2: Add the katakuriko slurry to thicken the sauce and then stop the heat. Stir in the grated ginger.
3. In a separate pot, add water (not listed) and the silken tofu. Turn on the heat and heat.
4. Remove the tofu from Step 3 and place it on a dish. Top with the ginger ankake sauce from Step 2 and green onion.

I recalled a flavor I had eaten at a restaurant once and tried remaking it.
