Edamame Cream Pasta

Edamame Cream Pasta

My niece and nephew loved the picture-book character I made to decorate this pasta. It has the authentic taste of edamame paste.

Ingredients: 1-2 adult-sized servings

1 bunch
a tea cup's worth
Canned tuna
1/2 can - about 40 g
White flour
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon
150 ml
Consomme soup stock granules
1/2 teaspoon
Salt and pepper
a small amount
Cheese & Black Pepper Paste

1. [For the green caterpillar decoration] Boil the edamame and secure four beans on a stick of pasta. Cut the eyes out of cheese with a straw or toothpick, and use sesame seeds or nori seaweed for the pupils.
2. Boil the pasta in salt water for a minute less than indicated on the packet.
3. Blend the edamame in a mixer to make a paste. Add the white sauce and consomme soup stock granules. See Recipe ID: 2143250 for the white sauce.
4. Fry the tuna and mix in the edamame paste. Gently add the pasta and just less than a ladleful of the boiling water. Season with salt and pepper and transfer to serving plates.
5. Top with vegetables and parsley to finish.

Story Behind this Recipe

I was eating edamame when I started to wonder if I could make this to delight my niece and nephew.
