Deep Fried Tofu with Savory Sauce

I only make easy dishes!

Ingredients: about 2 servings

1 block
100 ml
Mentsuyu or "Tsuyu no Moto"
4 tablespoons
2 tablespoons
Grated daikon radish
as needed


1. Cut the tofu into easy-to-eat sizes and coat with katakuriko. Generously oil a frying pan and fry both sides.
2. Once browned, add the mentsuyu, water, grated daikon radish and mirin. Boil until the ingredients become thickened and it's done.

Story Behind this Recipe

I absolutely hate using a lot of oil.
I use little amounts as possible, even for making tempura and deep fry dishes.
