Jam-Packed Cream Buns With Easy Custard Cream Filling

These are cream buns with microwave-made easy custard cream that is wrapped with chewy bread dough It's a very easy recipe using a bread maker.

Ingredients: 16 buns

Custard Cream
Cake flour
2 1/2 tablespoons
1 cup (200 ml)
6 tablespoons
Egg yolks
Bread dough
Bread flour
240 g
Cake flour
60 g
200 ml
30 g
30 g
4 g
Dry yeast
5 g
To Finish
Beaten egg
White sesame seeds
to taste


1. Put the cake flour, sugar, and milk into a heatproof bowl. Mix and microwave for 1 minute uncovered.
2. Mix some more, and microwave for another 2 minutes. Mix in the egg yolks and microwave for 1 minute.
3. Wrap the cream with plastic wrap, and let it chill in the fridge.
4. Put all the bread ingredients into a bread maker, and start the "bread dough" course.
5. When the dough is ready, shape it into a ball and gently press the air out. Divide into 16 portions, and roll into balls.
6. Cover with a tightly wrung out kitchen towel, and let them rest for 15 minutes.
7. Roll out the dough, and place the cream in the middle.
8. Fold the 4 corners to meet in the middle and pinch them together.
9. Roll into nice round shapes so that the cream won't come out. Place the seam parts down.
10. Arrange them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Allow the dough to rise (2nd rising) in the oven for 30 ~ 40 minutes at 40℃ until they look like this in the picture.
11. Brush with the beaten egg, and sprinkle with white sesame seeds.
12. Bake in the preheated oven for 18 minutes at 180℃, and then they're done.
