This is really all the ingredients you need! The recipe takes 15 minutes from beginning to end. (^^♪
Finely chop the onion.
Combine the chopped onion with 70 ml of ponzu sauce. As it marinates in the ponzu sauce, the harshness of the onion will dissipate.
Cut the cabbage up roughly into about 3 cm square pieces.
Heat some oil in a frying pan over high heat. Add the cabbage and stir fry quickly. Transfer to a serving plate.
Add more oil to the pan and cook the pork. Season with a little salt and pepper. Spread the pork out and be sure to cook both sides. It's best if it's a bit browned.
Transfer the pork pieces to the dish with cabbage as it cooks.
Pour the onion-ponzu sauce over all! It's amazingly tasty!
Mix the cabbage, pork and onion sauce together and enjoy.
Story Behind this Recipe
This recipe is a bit hit right now at my workplace. For a long time I thought "How can such a simple recipe be so good?" But when I tried it out I was amazed. "What? No...it tastes nostalgic, but really new at the same time!!" Please try it for yourself...you'll be surprised too!
Make the onion and ponzu sauce sauce before stir frying the other ingredients, so that it can rest and marinate while you cook. You can use whatever pork cut you like. I used coarsely chopped thinly sliced pork this time. It's cheap! Don't add any extra ingredients. Just try making it as described! It will surprise you!
