Chocolate Cake Made with Pancake Mix and Cocoa

Yet another of my recipes in which everything is done, dishes included, in 5 minutes!! It's so easy, you can't go wrong! And you don't even need any chocolate!!

Ingredients: 1 baking tray's worth

Pancake mix
200 g
Cocoa powder
50 g
100 g
100 g
Olive oil (Or vegetable oil, or melted butter)
100 g


1. This is the cocoa I used. If you are using pure or unsweetened cocoa, add an extra 30 g of sugar.
2. Preheat the oven to 170°C.
3. Mix all the ingredients together well, and pour into a cake tin. Drop once or twice onto your counter or work surface to remove air bubbles.
4. I topped the cake in the photo with coconut before baking it.
5. Bake at 170°C for 40-45 minutes to finish!

Story Behind this Recipe

Whenever I make cakes with pancake mix, I always try to get rid of its characteristic powdery taste. I tend to have a lot of cocoa left over, so I use lots!
